About our Pastor, Hi! If you’re thinking of joining us for
worship it might help you feel more at home if you know a little
about the pastor (me) before you come.
I was born in 1944 and grew up in a small town not far from
Flint, Michigan. My mom was a teacher and my dad worked for
General Motors running a die cast machine in the A.C. in Flint.
I was the oldest of four. After graduating from high school (in
1962) I attended college, then seminary. Since I grew up with an
Erector set making all kinds of things my intention was to
become a civil engineer. Where did seminary come from?
The summer following graduation from high school I worked as an
apprentice electrician for a fine Christian gentleman. It was
that summer that I turned my heart and life over to Jesus. I’ve
never been the same since and I’ve never wanted to go back to
what I was before then.
Following seminary I married a young lady I met during my first
pastoral assignment and we’ve been married for 38 years now. We
have two married daughters, one of which is a physical therapist
and the other is an attorney; both live on the west coast. Our
oldest daughter is mother of our two grandchildren, and you can
bet that for us the sun rises and sets on those two kids. My
wife, Teresa is a respiratory therapist working at a hospital in
Milwaukee. Besides the Waukesha church, I’m pastoring the
Seventh-day Adventist group in Watertown. (What’s enjoyable
about that church is they have a working pipe organ in the
church.)
Over the years, besides Wisconsin, we’ve served congregations in
Michigan, Utah, Minnesota and Virginia. I returned to school and
received my Doctor of Ministry in 1992, two hours before our
oldest daughter received her M.A. Both of our daughters have
graduated from my alma mater, Andrews University.
Some of the things we’ve enjoyed doing over the years include
sailing, hiking and camping, downhill and cross country skiing,
and now motorcycling. (What did you expect? This is Wisconsin.)
Both Teresa and I are riders. If you want, ride here on Sabbath:
we speak motorcycle.
I’ve heard from many different people that the Waukesha church
is very warm and friendly. This pleases me. I hope you
experience this when you’re here. By the end of summer we’ll be
televising our worship services and you’ll be able to see how
good you look on TV.

I particularly enjoy people. I also enjoy preaching and
teaching. I’ve had several articles I’ve authored published, and
several years ago I started a book for children. If I can help
you connect with Jesus that’s what I’m here for. Come worship
with us and let us and the Lord bless you. |
